THRISSUR: Sujesh Kannattu, the whistleblower of the Rs100 crore loan fraud at the Karuvannur Cooperative Services Bank and former member of the local CPM committee in Porathissery, has disappeared. Her brother filed a missing person complaint with the Irinjalakuda police on Sunday.

According to his brother Suresh Kannattu, “Sujesh left home on Saturday morning in his car. He didn’t say where he was going. His phone has been switched since same Saturday. Since there was no information about him, even for his close friends, we decided to alert the police to find him. “

His family said that after all the controversy, Sujesh received calls threatening to harm him. As the threats came from unidentified people using the Internet to make calls, he complained to the police.

Sujesh runs an educational institution in Thrissur with his partners, but he did not visit them on Saturday.

The PMO expelled Sujesh from the Porathissery local committee on August 1 after leading a one-man protest against the banking authorities and party leadership for turning a blind eye to the loan fraud that had been occurring at the bank since several years.

Irinjalakuda police registered a case and launched an investigation.
