Couples in trouble after organizing the kidnapping of their daughter to repay a bank loan

Couples have been arrested in Delta State for allegedly organizing the kidnapping of their daughter.

The victim was reported missing earlier after leaving to work at the Okumagba Estate in Warri on July 19, 2021, and never returned home. Reports made available to reporters moments ago by the State Police Command noted that the couple had organized the kidnapping of their 21-year-old daughter, Stéphane Salomon Oghenevoke.

Naija News understands that the culprits were arrested on the night of Sunday August 1, after the police officers who had been monitoring the incident received information that they (the child’s parents) had organized the kidnapping of their daughter .

While police are still investigating couples residing on Olomu Street in Warri, a source claimed that Stephane Salomon, a member of Heritage Bank staff, located in Okumagba Estate, Warri, Delta State, had helped his parents obtain a 17 million Naira loan from the bank.
It was learned that the couple had borrowed money from the bank for the development of their business but had not repaid the loan for a long time as the bank was about to repay the loan, to no avail.

But it was understood that the couple, in an attempt to raise money to repay the loan, allegedly resorted to the staging of their daughter’s abduction.

Meanwhile, the alleged kidnapping victim had yet to be released, the sources said. Contacted about the matter, Delta State Command spokesperson DSP Bright Edafe said he could not confirm the report yet.
